I stumbled upon these and love them! If you struggle with hands (like me) these are great for practice and referencing. Thought I’d share my finds with other artists~.

brush presets two: painting
I literally use middle flat acrylic brushes for everything
the midline is a setting that was circulating around tumblr like half a year ago, the two derivatives are my own though.
The ‘Sweet Desu Jesus’ Pen from the last set is also used to refine details out
there’s other miscellaneous brushes that I have that I end up using as accents but they’re not settings I made myself and, like the midline acrylic, they’ve been circulating for like half a year so I’d prefer not to throw them in here. UuU

For my wife Veronica. <3<3
it’s nothing special, but i hope you like it. there’s more than one technique, even that i like to use. i can do another if you guys are interested.
and this texture is something that i like because i have a little more control what it looks like as well as colors. but regular watercolor textures are also awesome.
i think that this technique can even be done with a mouse or touchpad. :)

Skulls, Noses and Lips and a great painting process all done by Griffinfly!

The skull model is a google sketch up model you can grab from 3d warehouse.
If you do the skull studies I would suggest throwing some eyes into the skull for an added bonus and it gives an awesome creepy personality to the skull. It’s something I picked up from my kickass teacher Erik Gist.

Andrew Shek: straights vs. curves in animals
[From The Art Center]
Here are some very basic examples of what I think about when designing animal characters. These images look at straights vs. curves in the animal kingdom and how you can apply them to your design process.
